University of Pécs – Researchers’ Night
South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency (STRIA) participates in the Medtech4 Europe Interreg Europe project, of which the University of Pécs (UP) is a partner since phase 2. STRIA developed and submitted the Medtech4 Europe pilot action plan together with the French Committee for Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy (CEA) and UP. UP’s own ongoing projects include biomedical engineering and spectroscopy-microscopy, contributing to the development of the pilot project action plan. The aim of this is to test the feasibility of adapting the French good practice identified in the Medtech4 Europe project, the CEA Technological Innovation Showroom, to Hungary.
Between 30 September and 1 October 2022, the Researchers’ Night took place at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pécs. With 19 venues, 249 programmes and 162 participants, the event was open to visitors.
The Researchers’ Night is a series of free events across Europe to promote science and research careers. The last weekend of September is the perfect opportunity to discover the secrets of different scientific disciplines.
Through fun and inspiring lectures, experiments, laboratory visits and other playful activities, people of all ages will be able to discover the many new findings of scientific research. The main aim of the event, initiated by the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, is to make the diverse work of researchers and developers attractive to young people – boys and girls alike.
As part of the pilot project, UP gave a presentation on “Interactive demonstration of super-resolution microscopy using a mobile showroom”. The demonstration included a specially designed mobile showroom with four sub-sites demonstrating different aspects of super-resolution microscopy.
The Medtech4 Europe project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary within the Interreg Europe Program
